Panic attacks are when a person has extreem fear and anxious moments that suddenly occur without warning. You might feel you under a lot of stress emotionally and physically but that is not a panic attack as these attacks are many and should not go unnoticed. Panic attacks can interfere with a persons daily activities, it is a medical condition and can be treatable by many methods. You may only have one panic attack in your lifetime but even so, it can be very frightening and scary.
Panic attack symptoms are numerous and can resemble other life-threatening conditions that it is important to see you doctor and get treatment. Some of these symptoms include rapid heart beat, shortness of breath, hyperventilation stomach cramping, chest pain, headaches, nausea, stomach cramping, trembling, shortness of breath, tightness in your trouble swallowing, a sense of dread and dying. You may have a few or more of these symptoms, which can begin suddenly, and last from 10 minutes to an hour.
The worst fear is that you may have another attack and you would not want to leave your house. You have frequent attacks and you want to avoid whatever triggers the attack so you don’t leave your house. This is called agoraphobia because this is where you feel the safest place to be is home. If these attacks are left untreated it could become so severe that it could result into panic disorder and complications may occur.
If you think you are having an attack talk to your doctor and suggestions will be recommended. You can cure panic attacks by learning to cope with your anxiety triggers. Medication such as Paxil or Prozac might be offered for your anxiety. Counseling might be offered to talk about what might trigger your attacks.
If you think you are having any type of panic attacks call your doctor for an appointment. He or she will suggest what treatment might be best for you such as medications or ideas to control or cure panic attacks.
Find out what might be your triggers by going to canceling and talk over your problems in group therapy or on one-to-one basis. Once you stop your attacks you won’t worry so much about having another one and learn what triggers your attacks so you know how to stop them.
